Pi Day!

6th Annual Math, Science, and Pi(e) Festival
March (tbd), 2018

Volunteers design and host math and science activities for at-risk youth in our community.  Children who attend the festival enjoy two hours of fun activities, a Pi(e) buffet, and each receive a gift bag that includes stem-themed activities and toys.

Join our team to volunteer with us!

Thank you to everyone for a great 2017 event!

THANK YOU to the 20 amazing volunteers who invested their Saturday afternoon to make a difference for at-risk youth in our community! Members hosted math and science activities that included a solar cell experiment, sukoku challenges, coding games, pi day bracelets, and more.

The gift bags for the children were extra-special this year with great science books from Scholastic that were sponsored by a grant from the Foundation Beyond Belief.

A message from a volunteer at the 2014 Math, Science, and Pi(e) Festival: “It was an incredible experience and was truly heartwarming. Personally, it was my first experience volunteering to help the homeless, and I couldn’t have asked for a better one. Aside from the lessons learned, such as being more grateful for what I have and understanding the wide demographic of families that struggle, it opened my eyes on the joy and personal satisfaction that comes along with helping families in need. Yesterday was an experience I will forever remember, and I look forward to creating similar ones down the road. It was a pleasure interacting with the families, as well as meeting the volunteers, and I thank you for the opportunity.”

This event is not appropriate for child volunteers. This is a fast-paced event that requires volunteers to operate independently and we cannot supervise child volunteers here. Please contact us if you have questions about age-appropriateness – we’re glad to discuss this to see if it is the right fit for your young adult.
